These new coolers feature technology and construction that leapfrogs the competition. The coolers are a stacked-plate design, and they are all-aluminum for minimum weight and maximum strength. The transmission and engine-oil series of coolers have been optimized for typical oil viscosities and uses to provide excellent efficiency: better cooling with without significantly decreasing oil pressure.
The new Flex-A-Lite® transmission coolers provide class-leading cooling for the toughest environments, such as racing and towing. Dimpled plate and fin design improves cooling efficiency while minimizing transmission-oil pressure drop.
Some Flex-A-Lite applications can also be for power-steering coolers.
In addition, Flex-A-Lite offers a transmission cooler with a 6-inch electric fan for remote cooler applications, and another one with a 10-inch electric fan.
The new Flex-A-Lite engine-oil coolers provide up to 4 times the heat rejection compared to typical low-cost coolers. In severe conditions, engine-coolant alone isn’t enough to protect the engine oil and internal components from premature wear or failure. The new Flex-A-Lite engine oil coolers use turbulized fins inserted into the internal cooling plates to avoid an outer layer of fluid forming near the plate walls that is cooler than the fluid flowing through the center of the plate. This, in addition to louvered fins, provides extremely efficient heat transfer. The thick, 1 ¾-inch core minimizes oil-pressure drop through the cooler while maximizing heat transfer.
Engine-oil coolers come with interchangeable -8, -10 and -12 AN fittings with O-rings. In addition, we will offer an engine-oil cooler with a 6-inch electric fan for remote cooler applications, and another one with a 10-inch electric fan.
